Okay, so I have my own ideas, but if a radio station wanted to start accepting Bitcoin in some matter, either via like donations or something else, how would they go about that?

My thoughts would be set up a pay server with a donation address, plop a donation button on their website. Ezpz.

But if anyone has any other ideas they are Open to suggestions.

They dont have merch but a merch store is another idea.

Zaprite -> Btcpay, strike, lnbits

If they are publishing an internet stream as well they can accept sats live if the use the podcasting 2.0 LIT tag.

For static donations, on change btcpay server seems fine. Bolt12 qr code.

Add all three just to confuse the normies!

Ooooh right that could be a way. Ive never fucked with the podcasting 2.0 stiff before so that would be fun.

Yeah every week there is like 5 or 6 livestreamed audio shows that are boostable.

But nostr:nprofile1qqsr5qnsn6medetj3vexljqqvy99gfdrgsp7hs9f52kdvrryz6gwkrsppemhxue69uhkummn9ekx7mp0qk8hxm is your trip guide on this one.

http://hellofred.fm/ Here’s a boostable radio station being built out, you can search Hello Fred in podcasting 2.0 apps that support LIT and they show up as live podcasts:

I'll look into this. Currently they're using Azure Cast to host their online stream.

That’s correct, as do I. I think it’s fairly flexible what kind of livestream link you can put inside of a “live item tag” aka a live episode in an RSS feed.

Oh, okay, interesting. That's cool.

Here’s the documentation you’ll need, for love specifically: https://github.com/Podcastindex-org/podcast-namespace/blob/main/docs/1.0.md#live-item

Thank you thank you.

I’ve worked in radio. Won’t happen.

Lmao the owner wants it.

I know zero people in radio who are even open to it. They don’t want to hear about it.

They aren’t the type. Skeptical.

This guy had bitcoin in 2012, lost it all doing dumb shit. Been salty about it ever since. Ive been upgrading some of their servers all day. He saw the btc pin on my hat and has been asking questions all day.

Interesting. But while he may be into it, he’s still one person. Unless this is a mom and pop you’re at. Radio is far too corporate to make a move.

Hes a local station but hes afiliated with fox sports.

Def a better chance but good luck 🍀

We'll see server upgrades first, podcasting 2.0 and bitcoin stuff later.
