A clarification note on this.

Until now, only exchanges based in Europe, such as Binance, were required to comply. Bitfinex, for example, did not have offices in Europe, so it was not required to comply and did not do so.

Now, in January 2026, Bitfinex must comply or it will not be able to offer services to Europeans.

We Europeans live in a communist dictatorship.

So, whichever exchange you use, no matter where in the world, if it is regulated, Mother Europe will know what you are doing.
