it's a really really cute game. completely implausible you control a cat, who seems to be smarter than a cat - or maybe the cats are actually smarter than us by not getting caught up in this shit. but the story in it is pretty brutal, and at times, quite a tear jerker. the main support character that you deal with through the whole game turns out to be a scientist who had his memory recorded and turned into an AI. you follow its instructions to find it a little robot body, and then it zaps this harness on you (the cat) that it hides inside when you don't need to talk to it. the way the cat reacts to this little carry sling that sits on its upper back strapped around chest and ribs the way the cat reacts to it being on its body at first, is weird.
it's a really good game to play if you want to get some inkling of a picture of what it is like when AI is put inside a robot body. and worse, when a person's whole personality and memory is sucked up into an AI model and then lost on a network where there is no longer any humans to talk to. not really that surprising to see in the narrative it wants to talk to the cat. and it can, of course, and probably, that is the thing that breaks the implausibility of the cat acting with intention, because cats don't do that. but i think if robots learned to talk to cats, then maybe cats would at least be susceptible to direction.
See, your first description was off putting, but this makes it sound a lot nicer 😂
yeah, it's hard to explain what the game is about. the most amazing thing about the game is the music. it has that whole tense, puzzle solving vibe so down pat, and the story is great. yeah, it's unbearably cute game, really, but the more you go into it, the more disturbed you will get. it leaves you with hope at the end, nobody dies, and kitty gets back outside to hang out with his family.
