What was meant to be bring his followers a clear understanding of their divine was ritualized to create a feeling of separation between us, the plebs, and him, the divine, but more specifically: between us, the controlled, and his “anointed” messengers, our appointed rulers. Rome never accepted Jesus—they accepted his divine platform for control.

What I like about the story of Jesus (that is often overlooked) is that even this dude that was all peace, love and non violence decided to take a big ass stick and beat the hell out of people, maybe literally.

As noted in my previous reply, there are a number of places in the Bible that record Jesus' command to practice the sacrament of communion and relating the elements of bread and wine to his body and blood. However, just how literally that relationship is viewed is not agreed upon by all Christians.
Roman Catholics: The bread and wine are literally transformed into the physical body and blood of Jesus.
Lutherans: The bread and wine are not transformed, but the physical body and blood are in, with, and under them.
Reformed/Presbyterian: The bread and wine are not transformed, but we feed upon Jesus in a spiritual sense rather than physical.
Baptists and many others: The bread and wine are not transformed, but are merely representative of Jesus' body and blood, and we don't feed upon him in a physical or spiritual sense at all.

Culturally I was born in it, but I am an curious outsider. Dunno that much about religion, but I know stories.
The context in the story is this… Jesus knew he had been betrayed by Judah, so during the last souper he kind of announced his death to the others by symbolizing his flesh and his blood in the wine and the bread. Sort of saying that once gone he would continue to live in them. Which he did, through the stories they told.
So the bread and wine ritual is supposed to serve a double purpose, be forgiving (even if the traitor who causes your own death) and accept the teachings of the Christ, the story of Jesus. What it really does is that it creates a moment of communion, display to others that like them you have accepted the story as central to your life.
I’m an autist. I can understand these things, why they are done, but they still seem absurd to me.

For some odd reason a lot of people can't live without some invisible power they can prey to, that of course will make all their dreams come true, with no work other than prayers needed.
If prayers worked, everybody would be praying 5 times a day and living their dream life instead of a living nightmare.
In a weird way, prayers actually can work...we code our perception with our thoughts. Being a cynic is a strong trait but sometimes can be the worst thing for yourself. #thoughts #prayer
I think they can work in the sense what you put focus on gets results and/or you notice the result. Ie you buy a car then suddenly you see the same model everywhere.

A righteous one needs no consequence. It's the idea of living a life free of consequence at death that is creating all these devilish peoples 😈
Maybe you are onto something.
I make decisions more based on the consequences of them and my knowing of whether they are right or wrong internally, I don’t fear any consequences after death personally

I had to put it black/white to make a point.
If you pray + work to make your dreams come true, it can work through "visualizing" the goal and thinking that you got a divine power on your side.
But I suspect that it does more damage than good to humanity that this kind of people still live in a pre-mordern world mentally.
They are essentially living a life based on a lie, and the next thing is this people will be fooled into supporting making it law that you and I has to be waxed. (ups, already happened)
They have to wake up if, they are the majority of people, and we will end up as slaves in the future, if we don't find a solution to waking up the sleeping sheep.
