Birds’ nest fungi, I believe Cyathus striatus. Common saprobic and coprophilous fungi that hold egg-like spore-containing peridioles inside the nest-like peridium. The peridioles on this species have an attached tether cord, which helps them adhere to nearby plants or woody material after they are forcefully dispersed by splashing water. They will then colonize wood or pass through an animal digestive system and colonize the feces. Thanks to @oregongardening for recognizing them when they were just immature pins! They have been fun to watch develop. #fungi #birdsnestfungi #nidulariaceae #cyathusstriatus #peridioles #groundscore #saprobic #saprobicfungi #woodchips #woodchipseverywhere
