Something similar for android perhaps?

First is from GrapheneOS (AOSP based), second from Samsung.

Basically search "UWB" in settings and you'll find it if your phone has the chip.

Ofc if you're a privacy maxi you should keep location services off by default anyway.

Or save yourself the hassle and move to #GrapheneOS on a Pixel πŸ˜‰...

#[2] I was really hoping this would involve needle nose pliers for some reason :)

Lol, that does make it more fun.

and since you are there

Oh just found this when I was in there. Never get that annoying prompt again

Thanks for the tip!

I always try all these privacy tricks, and none of them ever seem to work, so then I end up getting frustrated and give up.

Thanks! Do you use GraphineOS #[1]? If not, look it up :)

Would map apps still work?

Seems to work fine.

Ha! Already had it off. No impact on normal use.

Since it is all closed sourced, how can this be trusted? Aren't we part of the "verify, don't trust" crowd?

already turned off πŸ˜‰

Awesome thank you Jack!

Thank you

Already had this switched off. Worth sharing, good for people to know.

Buying an iPhone is choosing convenience over security/privacy.

If people care, and have the ability to, get a Librem 5, Fairphone, or even a little Pinephone.
