Past, present, future - God's outside all of it, He sees all of it.

One concept that really hit home for me was that God can decree/predestine a thing to happen without predestining the means to the end. God decrees the ends, but the means can be left to us (via Michael Heiser's book Unseen Realm). And a corollary is that God can foreknow something might happen but that doesn't mean he decrees/predestines that it will happen.

It all reminds of the residue theorem in complex analysis: skip the real part and just integrate in the heavenly realm.
