I am back home from Cuba. Made many friends and donated devices with lightning wallets and bitcoin on them.

Unfortunately, most people in the world use whatsapp to communicate and there was no time to explain to everyone beyond the lightning wallet topic.

I can either install whatsapp on my work tablet or on my daily driver with GrapheneOS on it. I have other devices wtihout phone numbers too but cant install wahtsapp without phone number I dont think.

I would just use SMS but too expensive for people in many countries.

Thoughts and suggestions are appreciated.

I used sms4sats to set up an account that required a phone number once. It’s an interesting work around.

and in this situation you would just use any spare device or have it sandboxed in GrapheneOS on my daily driver?

People suffer a lot there. I have heard reports that a doctor's monthly income there is not enough to buy a pizza. The doctor's wife asked for lingerie to be brought to her because there is no such thing there. That island is experiencing expropriation and slavery at the hands of those who promise everything for free.
