It shouldn't need wifi
Its probably the ONLY appliance that should have it just to send you an alarm when it fails. Wifi on every other appliance is completely useless, but for some reason they all have it.
Nah I just don't see it when my fridge stops making noise I know it's down I don't need a notification to tell me it's down
For me it's the number one "smart" feature I want from any appliance. When a freezer full of thousands of dollars of meat or a refrigerator that will spoil and smell so rotten it needs to be replaced just for the smell, temperature monitoring is an essential function. But none of them have it. No, you need to pay 3x for one with a 14" display running android and monitors your every word. It's fine, I have a separate solution for it, but amazing it's literally the only appliance I have that doesn't have wifi (and I didn't know it had it until it was installed) but it's also the only appliance that has a legitimate usecase for it.
As long as it's simple not a human-sized iPad for a fridge
