As a merchant, I have come to the realization that the HODL narrative has been pushed so hard that very few use it as a medium of exchange. Ppl only understand it as a Store of value.
NGU is a double edged sword when it comes to universal adoption. We can't achieve a tru Bitcoin Standard until ppl come to the realization that #bitcoin is money, and that you should use it as such.

personally I use it as a store of value that gets me out of shitty financial situations when I need the money fast. A highly liquid savings is nice. And I need to work on using it in my day to day. commerce needs to change. But you're right - majority of people understand HODLR as the monkey hoarding shiny rocks
Yes. I use HODLING as my savings acct. But when I need something, I use Sats to purchase it, if I can. 🫡💪🚀

I'm a hodler, but I routinely use nostr:npub1cashappn03s3cl2ljsdntv0v28e2um5lgx4vjctqjt23pcwzjhsqmtdg5l or nostr:npub1ex7mdykw786qxvmtuls208uyxmn0hse95rfwsarvfde5yg6wy7jq6qvyt9 to quickly buy spot Bitcoin, and then either spend it as lightning immediately directly from that app, or I then load up other little digital-leather lightning or liquid or ecash daily spending wallets like nostr:npub12vkcxr0luzwp8e673v29eqjhrr7p9vqq8asav85swaepclllj09sylpugg or cashu.me or aqua or similar fast and cheap and free as in freedom and private "carry around with me" "not a big deal if I lose it or get rugged" wallets.
It's all part of the process. Widely used MOE will come much further down the line. This is what I believe and it just makes the most sense. But I admire all the people who are on the frontier and using it as MOE way earlier than when it becomes easy and seamless.
