Octopath Traveler was one of those games that completely fell off my radar after Switch's first year, largely because the damn thing never fell in price. Finally relented, and picked up a physical copy of the I/II bundle.
It's freaking great.

My eldest doesn't play the game, but listens to the soundtrack all the time.
I played the demo. The game was beautiful.
I played the demo as well. I was so intrigued, but everytime I saw it in the store, it was full price. Paying $70 for a physical copy of it bundled with the sequel was the closest to a "deal" I could get.
How do you find it so far? I didn't know they had a dual pack. Might be worth looking into, once I feel done with MH Wilds.
My first fantasy RPG was Final Fantasy I. And my second was Final Fantasy II (IV in Japan), which was my favorite. And Octopath keeps the core gameplay experience only ever-so-slightly more complex than those games, which when combined with the pixel art graphics engine, really creates a great nostalgic quality. Layered on top of this is the 3D depth and aperture effect that makes moving around the town and field environments really pleasurable on the eye. Music is awesome, and you will find yourself whistling along with it, or making up lyrics in your head.
My first rpg was Pokemon Blue 😂
But I'd consider my first "real" rpg to be Golden Sun.
