120mm Slide film soit with Bronica ETRS

30 years ago, my now wife and I drove a 1.3l Suzuki sierra soft top with no air con, 10,000km in 18 days in Oz. The cover was white (well, very off white), and leaked. So I thought I would wax it with surfboard wax. This was a great magnet for the red dirt in Northern Territory. It became a nice tan colour.

Anyway, while driving near Uluru, I saw this out of the corner of my eye on the verge of the main road. I kept driving, but after about 5kms I had to turn back (my wife was delighted as it was about 45 degrees celcius).

This termite nest was about 7cm (2 1/2 inches) tall.

It may have lasted until the next car came, or maybe a few days, but I am so stoked I turned around and got this image.

This is a great capture. 👏 great moment in time. Like you said could have disappeared shortly after. How the hell did you spot this?

Thanks heaps hey.

Just lucky I think. We were doing about 100km/h which was almost max speed for my car., and I didn't directly eyeball it. I Kinda thought I was going to go back and it would be a stick.

I used to have a Bronica ETRS. Well spotted image. Bronica lenses were pin sharp.
