How long did it take you to sync your bitcoin node? Think I’m on week 4. Currently at 85%

Any tips for me?

Hm.

That's a real long time.

3 days. And cloning even less

I did screw up and didn’t get a SSD for it. Running on 5 TB standard hard drive but it’s taking forever

My Raspberry Pi 5 with 2 TB SSD took <3 days.

^

I would bite the bullet on loss of time and simply get an external SSD.

On the right you'll see my node: SSD sitting behind it. I velcro'd it to the nodes case. It's in its own case with super fast connection cable.

Think you’re right, new SSD here I come

2TB is what you'll need for now. And that's 50% already.

So... if you can find a deal on a 4TB. (I did) I would just go for it and be done with it for quite some time

You may want to consider the write and read speed + the cables used.

If it's taking that long, how will it operate in real time? Might have severe latency, which not only is frustrating to deal with? But opens you up for attack due to that same latency

I tried to sync my first time with an HDD but by the 3rd week and 60% I gave up. Bought an SSD and in 5 to 1 week it was done. Everything else I keep the same, parameters, internet connection ...

Do you set any specific parameters while doing it?

Nope.

I guess the write/read speed of your hard drive matters. I just assume you're using modernized updated equipment....of which any would be commensurate
