Watching ALL the Instagram ppl move to Threads and use it makes me wonder: What's wrong with Twitter? It existed all these years and offered the exact same product years ago.

I used to think ppl who liked Instagram were more into pictures than words. But now I see them super active on Threads.

So what's up with that?πŸ€”

It's new (and hyped)

it allows people that used both twitter and instagram to have a similar experience, but under the same umbrella. plus, it allows those that don't like elon's changes to move elsewhere. if they already use instagram or FB, it makes sense for them. it's the new honeymoon phase now though. we'll see how active threads is in the coming months.

Shiny thing is shiny

first move attention grabbers probally

What if the normies are so normy that they prefer a less than optimal experience, or they basically base their choice on what their friend says…?

i would guess it's based on a hive mindset 🀣 this is the current thing.

Yeah that’s my point. So those who are only comparing it to other social media platforms based on merit alone are missing something

Because it is one click to create an account linked to your IG. Useful to those already have a large following base? πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ

It seems to me that there is a huge - and growing - crowd whose primary interest is lifestyle and identity. They are not into news and aggressive debate about values. In fact, they care about very little apart from expressing themselves and being confirmed by peers. The media has realized this a long time ago and several news outlets have turned almost completely into life style sites. In my opinion, this tendency is sickening but wouldn't be surprised if Threads turned into Meta's main product.

Nice point of view. Thanks for sharing!
