Really can someone tell me what this "global feed" is that everyone talks about? All I have is the feed of my followers and its free of spam except this one guy who comments about some money making opportunity who we keep reporting.

On Nostrgram, it's an explicit feed. Full noise of the protocol, at least the relays you connect to.
Nostrgram also has Follows+ which is the folks you follow, plus the ones they follow.
Far superior to global IMO.
Ah. Why would anyone use this? It's like seeing all the random tweets of everyone on twitter right?
Go have a look at nostrgram. I'm Amethyst too, but nostrgram seems to have an additional global option.

It's like trusting your follows follows to create your feed.
Interesting, especially if your follow count is low but ultimately I like to control my feed.
Hit the magnifying glass at bottom nav bar. That loads global on amethyst
