But at least 3 countries are actively trying to take the chip business - China (most likely), Malaysia (making gains), and the US (lol).

So what will Taiwan do when the world doesn't need their chips?

Taiwan will most likely be swallowed by China once Chinese gets up to speed with chip innovation. So Taiwan must keep their advantage at all cost. As of now, US may protect them. It's quite a long way to getting there before they will become "dispensable" but seems to be shortening as we speak.
