Badgers badgers badgers badgers...

Just a bunch of guys being dudes

wrong! the internet is serious business =P

1993-94, AOL discs in the mail.

I feel like there was briefly a non-Compu-Serve alternative - iNation? - my sister had. Was setup like a carnival (ratty midwest type, not fancy European) theme

your whimy, ser:

www.exo-science.com

I'm not sure if that just fails to load for me, or if that's the point?

nooooooooooo 😿

the most whimsical place fails to load.

hope it comes back sometime

I remember Dysfunctional Family Circus where the site owner would take family circus cartoons and you could fill in the captions. I remember Keepers of Lists where you would submit and vote on one-liners on random whimsical topic of the day (eg "Top Muppet Gripes").

Internet up the early 2000s was about finding order in chaos. Lots of energy was bottom-up. Search engines and aggregators would just help you find it; and finding the good content did sometimes feel like uncovering a secret treasure.

How to bring back the chaos?
