Somebody told me that in the USA, there is a significant portion of the population that would rather eat their dinner off of paper plates than wash the dishes.
Is this true?

Maybe that's true, but people believe all kinds of stupid things. Your clothes will last longer if you air dry them instead of putting them through the dryer, so maybe these people are just making a smart personal choice. And saving electricity.
Dis about dishes tho? 💁♂️
It's nonsense. Even the poorest has a dishwasher. The question is just supposition. What would they do without dishwasher.. I have a dishwasher and I would probably just wash my stuff because buying paper plates, putting them in the garbage is the same effort. Plus I like something more than pizza. How a paper dish works with grilled meat grilled cheese, a soup. No no
Even the poorest have a dishwasher? o.O?
That's really interesting, you don't see that here in Ireland, people will wash most of their dishes in the kitchen sink by hand to save money if they are hard up.
Fortunately, paper plates have a thin coating of plastic, which is ostensibly to prevent sagging, but is also an endocrine disruptor.
So it's likely affecting Americans reproductive systems?
This wouldn't be the case I suppose if they washed the dishes in the kitchen sink.
A lot of things are making humans infertilenowadaysm.
Paper plates
The inside coating of soda cans
Plastic bottles
Thermal reciept paper
Coatings on grocery strore fruit
Polyester + polycotton
Etc etc...
It's almost as though there's some kind of depop agenda.
Yes, it's true, Americans are lazy. Growing up without a dishwasher really teaches you how to appreciate when you have one.
I'm almost one of them. I hate washing dishes.
