I have a conspiracy theory that Bukele/El Salvador got wiped out (or mostly wiped out) by FTX and they were bailed out by whales.

So — clearly an exchange, but did he ever move the coins off exchange? 
But do you really think this man knowing the significance of bitcoin is not going to self custody when he knows ppl have been stealing from El Salvador for like 300 years or what was it that he stated 200 years im sure he self custody it after every purchase
Unless they have a dept of Bitcoin custody in El Salvador, I'm sure he'd actually be advised AGAINST self custodying the nations BTC.
That's unwise liability and puts him at even greater risk 🔧.

I'd hope not, but it's complicated holding your country's coins as a world leader. It's like having the treasury dept under your mattress.
I wish they’d write the playbook on nation state self-custody. It’s actually a really interesting thought experiment. What happens when the administration passes the power on… does another vault get created? So many things to consider.

There’s a conspiracy theory that he is WEF aligned and controlled opposition but I’ve no idea where that comes from and haven’t seen any details.
There was a rumor out the gate they lost $7M and it went away, but he claimed to be making all the purchases from his phone.
