Pause here to catch your breath, weary traveler.

I remember my dad when he was my age. From the view of a 9yr old he was strong, had all the answers, and nothing could stop him.

As I reflect on myself at this age I feel like I could fit that bill. My kids world is still the family unit. Their friends while important don't rule their conscious moments and my kids are still free from a world where hate or manipulation could occur. I cherish these days of hugs and great wondering pondering.

I can't hold on to this, no more than my father did. So this is my season and there is much haste for the hay I wish to make. I feel the hope that so many have lost. Every one of you here drinks from that fountain of peace I hope it fills you and you find your season.

Savor every second, brother.

Teenagers (particularly sons) make you understand why your father was the way you remember him in high school. It also reconciles you to ‘turning into him’ - I must hear myself repeating one of his sayings or quips, weekly (he is still alive, thank God, so he’ll remind me if I get one wrong 😂).
