A mate of mine thinks I’m a crazy conspiracy theorist, “there’s no way they will introduce carbon footprints and restrict purchases.”

Told him to open his CommBank banking app which already has a carbon footprint tracker against his purchases…

Just having a banking app on your phone is a mistake.

In this case it was very helpful to illustrate my point.

It showed his October footprint was 3X the national average (helpfully highlighted in the app with an Orange/Red bar) and this isn’t even his main account used for normal purchases - he happened to buy plane tickets that month with that card.

People aren’t dumb, they’re just not paying attention. When their bank shoves it in their face like this, totally unasked, well they’re going to start asking questions sooner or later..

You're right that it's valuable as a learning opportunity.

I certainly hope so.

Oh shit you can actually see that. I need to start looking on mine

Damn just looked this up. Sad for the aussies

It’s coming for everyone mate - Australia and Canada are going to be first because the people are docile and dumb and will put up little resistance, the learnings will be used to introduce similar everywhere else though

You may be right. Though the pendulum against dei and esg seems to be swinging. I 🙏 it’s not a false start

The exclamation will be top-notch. 🤣
