I think its fair to say the bloat that some devices ship with their android os makes the experience less than desirable so if you have a pixel, maybe think about installing graphene OS on it and see how that feels for you.

I'm on Android. I hear Damus is really nice. But Amethyst it's coming along really nicely. Velcro your old Android to your IOS and use it with Amethyst. You can connect by Wi-Fi hotspoting your IOS. Maybe even bluetooth..🧡💜🤠🗽
