Every brownstone in NYC is in a constant state of repair. Go anywhere in the Upper West Side, and there is work being done on “crumbling” brownstones. Lol. This is a historically significant piece of architecture they are getting paid $30M to tear down. All of the same outreach and community service can and is being done there already. Don’t need to tear it down to do that. It’s the money they want, and they can get it without tearing it down.
