On this day, we remember Martyr Oprea of Săliştea. In 1768, under duress to renounce his Orthodox faith and embrace Calvinism, Oprea steadfastly refused. He was promised wealth and status, but he declared, "I was born Orthodox, and Orthodox I will die!" For his unwavering devotion, he was tortured and ultimately martyred by being impaled.

Holy Martyr Oprea, pray to God for us! May your sacrifice inspire us to defend the #Orthodox #Faith against all adversities. May we be as brave in our convictions as you were, holding fast to the truth of Christ.
