As a freedom minded individual I can understand your point of view. However, as a small business owner⊠a bad hire can ruin my business. An employee/employer relationship is based on qualifications and trust. Just like you might not apply to a company that is in bankruptcy, which may not be able to pay your paycheck, an employer needs a little information about you in order to start building trust. You already know the name of the employer, the address, and any information you can find on the Internet about the company. By providing a physical address to the employer, it immediately can verify that you are telling the truth about being in the correct time zone, etc.
One time I asked an interviewee about their employment history and they responded âI refuse to answer that questionâ which is their right and I didnât ask again. But Iâm not going to hire anyone that I canât verify didnât fly planes for Jeffery Epstein. Get my point?
A little hack I used to use, get a PO Box and provide the address of the Post Office, then list the box number as a unit number. For example, if the post office is located at 123 Easy St. and your box number is 456 then list your address as 123 Easy St. Apt. 456. Maintain your privacy, but give a little something to start building trust.
