Media in Iran are currently announcing that there is an extensive deployment of the Iranian al-Quds force, the Syrian army, as well as forces from the "Fatemion" brigade (a Shia militia that draws its men from Afghanistan) in the Buchmal and al-Mayadeen area of Deir Ezzor governorate. The forces were deployed in order to counter the US intention to act and attack the Tehran-Beirut "corridor".
