It keeps mentioning the nsec, but I don't know if it's necessary to participate in the challenge...

Adding your nSec is only useful if you want to post from within the app… but it’s not nesessary …
What’s more important is having a valid lightning address and opening the app a couple of times to make sure it’s logging steps since it uses device sensors rather than health data
