We have a legal industry, not a justice system. The huge profits prevent the system from self correcting and becoming a justice system. As long as they teach first year law students that "the law is the law, not justice" the system will never become a justice system.

There is a quote from a judge in 1999 in the article expressing this sentiment. It's now 2025, after a two decades of liberal inaction and a decade of conservative action to further degrade "justice".
