Maybe people are busy for Christmas

true, but that's also a 6-month trend line.

How can we get more people?

i suspect some if it is technical and some of it is social.

this might be a spicy take: but custodial nsec management might need to be an option to activate the normies.

socially, we need to recruit more communities one by one. (i've been experimenting there bringing over software devs and testers.)

I agree with you. Most people I know outside of the web3 space will find self custody off putting. Perhaps a migration route. They can sign up more traditionally and then have the option to self custody when and if they are ready. I have about 1.1K followers on Rumble (not a lot), but I’d be happy to try to bring them over. I think a custody option is best for them.

i think the fancy phrase is "credible exit". i feel comfortable trusting a custodian if i know i can revoke that trust when necessary.

Thank you I like the way it sounds. Fancy indeed!

I don't know their methodology for collecting events, but as more "other stuff" is built I suspect these stats will get worse, especially with the nips repo being a shit show.

I suspect breaking these down by event types shows an entirely different story. There is an explosion of git stuff for example, which probably won't show in this data.

It seems like nostr has entered the lull stage where we were initially successful enough to now have the right people around building new shit. Think of this time as the calm before the storm where we are batoning down the hatches by decentralizing our infra and ops, and cleaning up ux

mostly agree. the websockets + signed-json-events are some killer primatives for stufff on my roadmap. it would be extremely nice to keep *this* notes interface above critical mass, though.

I don't think daily numbers are that important. Weekly is probably more healthy considering we don't have algos here addicting you to your feed.

Nostr band is abandon ware tho who knows how accurate that is n e more…

any suggestions for better sources of nostr network stats?

Nope…

Imho we don’t need em n e ways…
