Searching for users or anything needs to be easier.

I almost always go to nostr.band and search because search in Amethyst or Snort (which uses nostr.band) just do not work for me.

search is fine being centralized. it's only a visibility use case. think of this like blockchain explorers. the explorer itself being centralized is fine.

someone (with the funds) just needs to have some server listening to all nostr messages ever, ingest / merge / aggregate them and chuck them into elastic search and the problem is solved.

default full text search is good enough, bonus points to those who figure out custom scoring/trending models on ES

npub works great for me but name fails. We could search for # as well.

I search by username and npub. Sometimes nothing happens. If I try over and over again sometimes the search will work. I seem to have similar results with mentions.

Is @npub1xdtducdnjerex88gkg2qk2atsdlqsyxqaag4h05jmcpyspqt30wscmntxy ’s search same as the Nostr.band? Think I’m just very spoilt on Iris with the inbuilt search feature. Been binge reading by topics on what devs and others write abt. I think Artur is expanding this feature
