Besides my Bitcoin node, I want to self-host more stuff (PW-Manager, SimpleX, file Sharing, music/video, Nostr, google docs equivalent, etc.).
I am torn between yunohost on a vps and @start9 on a local mini server.
Ideally, I move my node from my raspiblitz to the new instance. But not a must.
What are your recommendations?

I prefer my own bare metal. Can reverse proxy / tailscale your server out to clearnet as needed
Migrated to start9 haven’t regretted it however you may consider multiple servers and not just putting all services on one host.
thanks. why running multiple servers? for privacy or outage risk minimization reasons?
Nextcloud does most of this. I run one on a full disk encrypted VPS, no docker involved.
Been thinking of installing CyberPanel on local hardware in my house, and giving that a go.
Tried Umbrel, but it doesn't support external storage, so I quickly discarded it.
Never looked to Start9 or yunohost.
Have proxmox on your server. Then you can play with storage as you wish :)
Personally I use stsrt9. And I have 2 instances running on the same server. Now I can add as much storage as I want and resize the start9 disk because it's logical
Jellyfin works great for music and movies. Was previously running Plex but that has all kinds of downsides

Bin grad auch dabei. Hab schon Start9 auf nem Thinkcentre am laufen und Bitcoin Core läuft auch schon. Werde dann auch mein lnd von Citadel zu Start9 umziehen.
Welche specs kannst du empfehlen für den ThinkCenter?
Ich hab das Thinkcentre m720q mit nem i5 gebraucht bei eBay gekauft. Habe das Teil dann mit ner 2TB SSD und 32GB RAM ausgestattet. Auf der vorhandenen 128GB M2 SSD habe ich dann Proxmox installiert.
Ich kann mich bis jetzt auch nicht beklagen, wenn man von nem Raspberry kommt ist halt alles um Welten schneller und stabiler🤣
