Yeah, was trying to simplify for them as much as possible. Have coins on an exchange but uncomfortable with the concepts of keys and addresses so they won't take custody just yet

bottom line it's a long password that you have to maintain yourself
i agree many will see this as too risky, regardless of how BIP32 works
