Looking forward. Aight, will do some light googling, as I'm feeling a bit lazy after doing the floors and dishes this morning -_-;;

This creature lives inside and with you, look after it. π

Terrifying lol. Point taken though, good to remember we're little more than brains on a stick
and there's a lot more brains in the stick than you'd expect. quite a bit of certain kinds of memories are stored in the stick
Oh right, hadn't thought of that. By stick you mean the rest of the body or the non-brain part of nervous system?
the non-brain part of the nervous system stores information too. there are some parts that are a little brain as well, like the ones that control involuntary reflexes and stuff like orthostatic pressure control of blood vessels... and there is a wire from the brain directly to the heart as well, bypassing the spinal column, that's how someone can be paralysed from the neck down but not die (quite amazing how that even exists as a survival mechanism, and hints also at the idea that under some conditions the broken connection in the spine can repair)
Yeah, I guess like most I had an artificial line drawn between brain and the rest being just pathways for it and nothing more. Didn't know any of the rest of that stuff either. The "memory" thing about our bodies never made any sense to me before reading the above!
yeah, it's truly an amazing creature... it can do a lot of things that scientists currently don't know about too, i mean, what's that thing with the placebo effect? how the hell does the brain have the ability to basically override so many other systems? (especially glands)
i think i've read somewhere also some people who have transplants suddenly having new memories too. i mean like lung, liver, etc, because there is all those nerves everywhere.
