Opus is not actually better than Sonnet. There is a psychological hack in sales. All problems can be solved by making the customer spend more money. Our product doesn't work? Try our same product at 2x the cost. Suddenly everybody is happy.

Opus is much better for me. It’s got a better tempo and takes less effort to get it to go in the right direction.

this is not my experience. but, there are situations where both are equally good, and using opus is a waste

Not sure why you think that, but opis just solved an in issue I've had that sonnet couldn't in many iterations and different prompts. Opus did it first go.
