I don't believe they have forgotten per say. I believe this was the double edged sword of technology advancing. People are much less social and reliant on tech for communication. We don't just talk to strangers and meet new people in person, so our dialect is shrinking & people are less aware of their social skills. Pair that with the fact that most people spend an average of 1 second looking at a post before they scroll and yes, you have a lot of people mostly farming for engagement without actually contributing a voice. It has made social media more of a tool for promoting business rather than a way for people to connect. nostr:nevent1qqsprtya6rnt6k7963ahrpy9eyhyzhta8vuflfhj58txv239rhulnhqzyqu8tgtvj7ypgdrxgrx0rstf4hn3ppk0m5dzhyz0g6kktyvcs3tvjtjc4u3

It wasn't that long ago where it was commonplace to just reach out to IRL or internet friends randomly. IDK if it's just me, but this seems to have declined significantly in the past 10 years.
