Back in my death metal band years. We used to play in Drop A. On a 7 or 8 string string it would be A-E-A-D-G-B-E. Reason why we picked drop a, is because on the 5 string bass, your ear physically can not hear anything lower then drop A on bass well other instruments are playing 😂

Dude, we used practice in my drummers garage. I had a 600 watt bass Amp well my band mates at fancy ass 1000 watt cabs. I legit had people call me who lived 6-7 blocks away tell me that they could hear us practicing and playing 😂.

Drop A feels and plays a lot like Drop D. Another way to look at it, Drop A or B standard is basically E standard but with a extra string on top 😅

Must’ve been awesome. When I played in a band we used to shake the whole house.

Never played a 7/8 string, haven’t had the need for it. But I have used octave pedals to achieve lower notes on my guitar/bass.

Oh I could imagine. I used to arrange and host house shows with people and just from my experience, I could only imagine you probably played and hosted some awesome shows 😂. House shows > venues 😅.
