I am trying out the 0.25 mm nozzle on the 3D printer I am borrowing. It can do 0.1 mm layers. For those who don't use the metric system yet, that is 0.004 inches per layer (which is well under 1/64th of an inch)

I'm also using the fancy filament that I'm also borrowing. What do y'all think?

That looks like a really good print

Very nice print. How does the small layers affect print time? I only use .4mm nozzles

That print took somewhere around 3.5 hours, (including the button).

When I was printing them out with a 0.5 mm headband 0.18 mm layer height, it'd take 45 minutes.

I don't have a perfect apples to apples comparison for quality because I used different printers and filament. But this one looks quite a bit better. Here's a pic of one printed with the larger nozzle.

Wow, for sure looks better. Def a long print for that small, but awesome end result with that nozzle and filament.

Pretty good, but I go the opposite way: .6mm nozzle. I design all my prints to work with that, and gosh it's a lot faster.

I'm not sure the smaler head is worth the extra time if the part can be printed with a larger nozzle.

I have a big print going now and then I plan on printing the same object that I printed with the 0.5mm nozzle to get as best of a side by side comparison as I can.

I expect it'll be nicer, but how much nicer? And os it worth the extra time and energy required?

I suspect I know the answer, but we shall see.
