Take that as an American investment for the future. Do you really think they won't get that money back. Every country that US touches one way or another, has been and will be exploited. United States is a business and like every business, is seeking profits.
Maybe ordinary taxpayers won't see that on their balance sheet but it will be in other forms like minerals, grain, sunflower seeds...
Just to be clear, I'm against what is going on in Ukraine or anywhere else of that matter. I'm against Putin's ways, I'm against western ways but I do like all of the goods, tech and freedom the west has to offer.
In conclusion, the war is a big business and we plebs can't do shit about it.
