While I agree with what you say, we cannot compare a model with just millions of parameters to one with trillions.

Open source models are specific to a task and perform as well as chatgpt in those tasks. If you want a coding ai get a coding model. If you want medical ai download a medical model.
Open source ai is the only hope we have of decentralizing this tech and no excuse is acceptable here.
Yep, you can say "chatgpt is so convenient so I have to keep using it!" But then you are part of the problem, not the solution.
