I'm thoroughly anesthetised to the phrase 'our democracy'.

The odd time that I catch a glimpse of mainstream media, and hear it, it sounds like it's emanating from the far end of an impossibly outstretched hallway; another dimension.

Well said. These are words that have ceased to carry any weight or worth.

I honestly think some people say “our nation” from the perspective of owners. They think it’s clever doublespeak.

Democracy, at best, is tyranny of the majority.

Hearing " it's a threat to our democracy! " makes me think it's probably actually " beneficial for a free society "

'our democracy' means 'the traditional institutions we control' not 'the will of the people'.

there is no democratic party in the U.S.. There are flavors of Fascist.
