Who's got great resources for starting my own Bitcoin Meetup?

I wanted to view another group before starting my own, but I just don't have 4+ hours round trip travel in the middle of the week.

And I'm tired of waiting. Need to build what's missing locally.

Honestly man, the best advice I found was "it just takes 2".

The most important part is actually starting one. I'd put it off for 18 months & waited until I had 3 definite attendees. The first Meetup we had 5 attendees & now we regularly have 10 each month.

It's small, personal & relaxed but growing & expanding each month.

I should have done it sooner.

Where did you start out meeting?

Our first was at a local pizza shop on Bitcoin pizza day.

The next was at the beach on a Saturday (weekends weren't suitable for regular meetups).

The third was at a pub where we thought most Bitcoiners were located. It turned out most of us had to travel 20-30 mins to get there.

In the end we settled on secluded public park & I did my usual beef BBQ.

Interestingly I ignored my usual advice to people wanting to organise Bitcoin events:

- Describe what you're going to do & when

- Invite others to join you

In time we'll book a room at the nearby library & do presentations, but at the moment it's purely social.

I'm going to use ALL of this, even though I finally stumbled on a local meetup.

I've got to make sure there's no shitcoinery involved, and attend.

These ideas will be very valuable if they want leadership help or input.

I was literally BUILDING a website for a group today when I stumbled on this one.

I've got a good feeling it's NOT crypto bros. 🤞

NO BUT DO IT YES
