My advice for anyone looking to get an idea off the ground without any particular skillset is to get a particular skillset.

It’s not impossible to raise VC money, but if you wish to have some success, you’ll have to either understand how to design the product, code it, or be really good at sales / marketing. Those are the 3 most critical skills to turn an idea into business. Best to have all 3, but 2 can work, and sometimes one.

Approaching people to do any of these things for you is going to be really difficult. Not impossible, but super difficult. Design takes time. Code takes even more time. Sales … well, nobody can do that for you unless you are flush with cash to hire out - but that’s almost always a terrible idea when just getting started.

Great note. Bookmarked.

Any recommendations for learning how to code? I’m still very novice.

Ask AI how to code.

who pays you, "karnage"?

Perhaps the most important thing is not these three skills, the most important thing is that you need to have a goal.

How about the skill to hire the right people? Can't grow a business without that one and if you have it, you are the right guy for any VC.

Yeah if you raised.

That’s a really underrated skill.

Similar to team management in the social and relations aspect

Having a good free product, then having a paid or subscription service with premium features seems like the way to me. Devs need to make money and this seems logical. Still open source.

Great note! Do you know of any good resources to learn to design products?
