I started the node to learn. Have closed most of my channels now and have like 5 bigger channels left to big nodes so that I’m sure that my payments find a way.

All that management to make sure they are balanced and such. I just don’t got the time for it.

But I’m glad that I did it and I like the little node I got running now. And I get excited when I zap and I know that I’m sending from my node and not just WoS.

Why run a bitcoin core node then for zero profit?

as mentioned below, not your node, not your rules!

Running a bitcoin node doesn't cost anything. But operating a lightning routing node has an operating cost.
