serbian!

haha... kod is a common name in yugoslavia (bosnia and croatia too) for a "rostijl" or bbq place. does kod kadre use charcoal for grilling btw? it's not really proper rostijl without it being cooked over charcoal. i lived in an apartment above a place that used an electric grill, it was nowhere near as good as the other places i've been to that have it over "cumur" which is the serbo-croatian word for charcoal.

btw, if you didn't try kaimak, you have to go back there and add kaimak to your cevapi and pljeskavica... and don't forget ljutenica.

the best food in the world, i don't think it's an exaggeration.

Love the enthusiasm. The food was really good and seemed much more "Balkany" than the Italian-y stuff we saw downtown. And I'd been dying for a good steak.

We drove down there, for a day, from Triest. We liked Triest better than Pula because it wasn't so overrun by German tourists. Like us. 😁

trieste is a pretty little town. i remember the park there, big pretty park.

so, it was slovenia. i never went to rostijl in slovenia. i had burek tho. i couldn't say that slovenian burek was better than serbian burek tho. same same. the best burek, much better than turkish.

Slovenia is gorgeous. Vacationed there, a few times, near Bled.

i describe it as the eastern switzerland. probably i would rate it higher than switzerland these days, also. technically my oma was swiss.
