It's a problem if it blocks you from being seen by people that do not follow you... That's the whole point of censorship

If they do not follow you. They already don't see you in the ocean of posts anyway. But you are there.

Amethyst only shows the Show Anyway button to those following the reporter. They can see the post and make a decision: they can agree with the report (they probably will because they are following the reporter, or disagree and report the reporter's report)

Either way, you can't do anything about it. You have to let reporter and their follows work this out.

I have not come across that type of blocking in my client yet so I appreciate the clarification. So it'll only show "hidden" if people you follow have made reports. What's the difference with "spam" how is that detected?

No, it will only hide if you blocked them or if they got into the spam filter. Otherwise it's always visible. If a post was reported by one of the people you follow directly, then it shows the post with a warning and a Show Anyway button, which displays all the content.

Reports from those you don't follow don't affect your or your followers experience unless the follow the reporter directly.

What situation was nostr:npub12262qa4uhw7u8gdwlgmntqtv7aye8vdcmvszkqwgs0zchel6mz7s6cgrkjtalking about? Were people actively reporting as spam and that's why it happened?

No, all of them are made of accounts making 5+ posts that are exactly the same in a short amount of time. That sends the account to the temporary block list, which is resetted when the app restarts.

People simply deleted the duplicated posts to solve it.
