Hey, what is the primary cause of this slower sync?? it's the connection between nodes or the processing power of the machine to validate the blocks while downloading?? I was thinking about run my own node on a old pc, but everytime i remember this I think twice.

I think memory is much more important than actual CPU speed or bandwidth (in most cases). I would guess that if you have less than like 32GB RAM you'll likely struggle to sync because for every TX to be processed there is a high chance of it having to search the disk for the corresponding UTXO and then everything is very slow.
