People complain about socialism, but it used to all be nepotism.
Nepotism gets a bad rap, but lineage preference is kind of natural. It only gets weird when you promote incompetent relatives or fail to reward competent and loyal outsiders.
Well, Grandpa was apparently highly competent and he was also a deacon, so he was a good choice, but it's weird to me to think of a sharecropper having employees.
