It sounds retarded, to me.

Instead of saying "1.45 Bitcoin", you'd have to say "145000000 sats".

the rationale is probably based on the fact that you'd rarely need to use such a big number.

you could also use 145e+6 😂

I think the rationale is to do away with sats entirely and call the smallest unit a bitcoin.

that's 1.45 billion sats

Maybe it would be less confusing if 1 Bitcoin was defined as 1 billion sats instead of 100 million..

see how confusing the big numbers are without visual breaks.
