Remind me again why people are so up in arms about spam on the timechain?

You feel it wont affect decentralization over time? I think the current concern is about needlessly making it more difficult to filter, for those who want to.

The block size limit helps keep it decentralized.

I suppose so. But I don't think storage is the main concern. It's processing power for syncing a node from scratch. I think this is much more of a barrier to new entrants that grabbing a new hd.
