a huge reality check for me is searching nostr and/or lightning network on reddit.
tiny subreddits and mostly skeptical posts that Lightning doesn’t work and nostr is full of criminals.
these are such obscure technologies that i have decided my life to for the past 7 years and the majority of people have no idea exists.
I keep going because it’s obviously the right *technical* solution, and i can’t imagine working on whats popular vs what is right.
I sometimes wonder if reddit posts aren't just mostly bots.
I used to love reddit.

I got a real breath of fresh air when I joined nostr, it feels like “dead internet theory” on the so called “communities” like Reddit and Twitter.
When you think of reddit as an extension of cnn, cable tv, nyt inauthentic top down monoculuture it all makes sense.
